DANIEL SAROKON COCOA BEACH Daniel Sarokon died peacefully at his home, on Sunday, January 1, 2006.

He was born January 22, 1927, in Tyler, PA. the sixth in a family of eight children to the late Nicholas (a Russian immigrant) and Anna Sarokon.

Dan was the Base Manager, General Dynamics Corporation, Space systems Division when he retired in 1988 after 30 years and 79 launches. He was awarded the NASA Public Service Medal for exceptional management and leadership of the Atlas/Centaur and Titan/Centaur operations crew in meeting NASA's launch vehicle objectives. He was a U.S. Army veteran, SSgt Infantry Pacific Theater.

Dan was an avid reader and enjoyed classical music. He also enjoyed gardening and maintaining the summer home in Sagamore, PA. He was a collector of antique clocks and German Mettlach and Regimental Steins. Dan is survived by his wife, Ethel Reda; his daughter, Heather and son-in-law Dr. Brant Wade; and grandchildren, Dayne Christopher and Emily; a sister, Eva; brothers, Charles and John; and sister-in-law, Jean.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and infant grand son. Nicholas Wade. There will be no local services. His ashes will be buried in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Sagamore at a later date.
