Wallace H. Boggs, 71, an aero space engineer, passed away Sunday,
January 29, 2006 at his home. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m.,
Friday, February 3, 2006, at Beckman Williamson Funeral Home in
Cocoa Beach. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Shands
HealthCare, 720 SW 2nd Ave, Suite 510, Gainesville, FL 32601.
As a Physicist, Research Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Aerospace
Systems Engineer, and Senior Research Systems Engineer, Wally worked
for General Electric, Boeing Atlantic Test Center, McDonnell Aircraft,
22 years with NASA KSC working on projects from Saturn to Space
Station, and RTI International. He was involved in many facility
design and safety assessments on the Cape and KSC and beyond. Wally
participated in radiological payload missions from Galileo to Pluto New
Horizons on the Interagency Nuclear Safety Review Panels.
He belonged to Sigma Pi Sigma (Physics Honor Society), was a past
Section Chairman of the American Institute of Aeronautics and
Astronautics, was a past AIAA National Technology Committee Member and
a past chairman of the Cape Canaveral Council of Technical Societies.
Wally taught Engineering Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Statistics
and Operations Research at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
