Franz Edward Eddie Ether idge, 73, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 6, 2007. Eddie was born, raised, and educated in Levy County, FL. He joined and served proudly in the United States Air Force working on F-86s and T-33s, serving during the Korean War. During that period he met and married Jacqueline Yount. Later he worked with Lockheed, Marietta, GA and civil service at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida.

He worked at the Kennedy Space Center on the Apollo Program with North American Rockwell; with nuclear power at Brown and Root in Southport, N.C.; with Bechtel Corporation in Washington State and the Alaskan Pipeline as a nuclear engineer.

Upon retirement Eddie became an active gardener, which was his joy. He also loved airplanes and motorcycles. Eddie was of the Protestant faith and also very active in the Elks Lodge #2113 and an American Legion member.

In addition to Jacqueline, Eddie is survived by his sons, Michael, Coleman, FL, Terry (Tammy), Titusville, Todd, Cobbtown, GA; daughter, Acacia (Scott) Dixon, Leland, NC; grandsons, Patrick, Titusville and Brandon, Dunnellon; granddaughter, Kristina Culp, Titusville; great-grandson, Koleton Lambert, Titusville and brother, William C. (Mary) Etheridge, Mesa, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Auburn Etheridge, and brother, Franklin W. Etheridge.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. (TONIGHT) Wednesday, May 9th and funeral services are Thursday, May 10th, at 10 a.m., both at North Brevard Fu neral Home, with Reverend Jerry Hanson officiating. Entombment to follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Titusville. Memorial donations in Eddies name may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are entrusted to North Brevard Funeral Home.
