Joseph Bloom Silver, born August 23rd 1923 in Worcester Massachusetts was a patriot, accomplished engineer, and devoted Christian family man.

Joseph served with the U.S. Army in World War II, including combat at Okinawa.

Graduating in 1951 from the University of Miami with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, he went on to successes in various aerospace endeavors, including design work for the B-52 bomber airframe and jet engines, the crawler used for the Apollo space program and space shuttle, and the program manager for the Minuteman 2 missile program.

Joseph has been married to his surviving wife, Maury Silver since 1952. He is also survived by his brother, Arnold Silver; daughter, Kimberly Silver; his son, Dean Silver; daughter-in- law Bethany Silver, and grand sons, Troy Casazza and Andrew Silver.

Joseph passed away on Wednesday, May 2nd in his home. He was a devout Christian and a member of Riverside Baptist Church located at 3333 N. Riverside Dr. in Indialantic where a memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday May 6, 2007.
