OTIS W. LEDBETTER SR.
BRISTOW, VA

Otis William Ledbetter, Sr., age 89 of Bristow, VA, died Sunday, April 22, 2007 at Consulate Health Care, Woodstock, VA. He was born October 14, 1917 in Piedmont, AL, the son of the late Malcomb and Cuba Ledbetter.

He moved to Bristow seven years ago from Myrtle Beach, SC with his wife of 46 years. They were members of the Myrtle Beach Church of Christ in South Carolina.

Mr. Ledbetter retired from NASAs John F. Kennedy Space Center in 1975 after 20 years of service as a Quality Control Inspector.

He was a veteran of World War II having served in the South Pacific in the U. S. Navy. He enjoyed traveling, visiting family and his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Lackey Ledbetter; his step-son Carlton E. Butler; two grandsons, Carlton E. But ler, Jr. and Terry M. Jordan; a brother, Jessie David Ledbetter and a sister, Dorothy Cordelia Reddy. Survivors include his son, Otis W. Ledbetter, Jr. of Bris tow, VA; two brothers, John Pel ham Ledbetter and James Ruben Ledbetter both of Jack sonville, AL; one sister, Jewell Elizabeth Lipscomb of Jackson ville, AL; nine grandchildren, Wanda Watts, Loretta Larri more, Sonia Jogerst, Eva But ler, Bob Ledbetter, Jennifer Rosati, Bill Ledbetter, Jeff Led better and David Ledbetter; 17 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m., Sunday, April 29th at Pierce-Price Funeral Home, 9609 Center St. , Manassas and funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 30th with Donnie Barnes, Minister, officiating.
