RICHARD PAYNE, MELBOURNERichard D. Payne passed away Tuesday morning, July 31, 2007, at the age of 78. He was born in Owein, Iowa. He graduated from Amphitheater High School in Tucson, Arizona, attended the University of Arizona and served in the US Army during the Korean War. Richard worked for Aerojet Corporation in the defense and telecommunications industry as a Field Engineer and supported the early launch operations at Cape Canaveral. Dick moved to Harris Corporation in 1969 and supported many defense projects as Engineering Manager of Quality Assurance prior to retiring in 1990. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Fonda Fay; his children, Debbie and Albert Payne, and their mother, Frankie E. Payne. He was preceeded in death by his son, Ricky Payne, and his brother Rodney Payne (MaryLou).
