Phillip Ellenburg, 77, died Sunday, April 8, 2007, at Wuesthoff Hospital.

Phillip Ellenburg was born in Grassy, Alabama. He came to Brevard County in August 1963 from Arab, Alabama. Phillip served as a church elder for many years during the 1970s and 1980s.

He worked 26 years in the Space Program, retiring from NASA at Kennedy Space Center.

He served as a volunteer at the Veterans Facility in Viera. He was a member of the Rockledge Church of Christ. His favorite activity was doing what he felt God wanted him to do, which was also what he did best: visiting shut-ins, the elderly, sick, lonely and anyone else whom he could help. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his good buddies and family. Above all he loved his wife, children and grandchildren, with his favorite moments coming when they were all able to be together.

Phillip is survived by his wife of 53 years, Margaret; son, Phillip (Leigh); daughters, Kathy (Randy) and Karen (David); brother, Lewis (Ruth); sisters, Arnettie (WIlbur) Wright and Vera Harvell; grandchildren, Olivia, Lillie Grace and Barr Ellenburg, Jason (Patricia) and Dustin Flickinger, and Randy Smith Jr.; great-grandchildren, Brandon and Dylan Wells.

Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, April13th, at Wylie Baxley Rock ledge Funeral Home. Services will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, April 14th, at the Rockledge Church of Christ, 2390 Fiske Blvd., Rockledge, FL. Memorial donations may be made to Mount Dora Christian Home and Bible School, 301 West 13th Avenue, Mount Dora, FL 32757.
