REGINALD M. HODGSON COCOA BEACH Col. (Ret. USA) Reginald Mure Hodgson, 93 of Cocoa Beach, FL died on Wednesday, May 2, 2007 in Cocoa Beach. Bud, as he was affectionately known to family and friends, was a native of Washington, D.C. He attended public schools in the District and University of Virginia on a swimming and diving scholarship and held several championships such as, South Atlantic Inter-Scholastic Diving Championships and Middle Atlantic A.A.U. Diving Championship. Col. Hodgson was predeceased by his parents, Reginald and Myrl Tyree ONeil Hodgson, his sisters, Myrl Burkett and Elizabeth Hodgson, brother, Charles William Hodgson, as well as two infant sons. Col. Hodgson was drafted into the US Army in June 1941. His first assignment was with the 2nd US Horse Cavalry and later participated in the Nor mandy Landing, Battle of the Bulge and other European battles. He returned to civilian sta tus in 1946. In 1948 Col. Hodgson returned to active duty in the US Army. In February 1949, he married Grace Malloy Altemus of Bethlehem, PA. His military assignments included Greece, Ft. McPherson, Atlanta, GA, Viet nam, the Pentagon, Panama, Puerto Rico and he retired from Ft. Meade, MD in 1965, when he and family moved to FL. Col Hodgson then was employed by TWA and the Boeing Co. at the Kennedy Space Center, FL. He is survived by his wife, Grace of Cocoa Beach; sons, Reginald M. Hodgson III, Peter Hodgson of Hawaii and Christopher Hodgson of South Beach, FL. Col. Hodgson was a member of the Officers Club, Patrick AFB, American Legion and Dis abled Veterans. No local services are planned at the request of the deceased. Interment will be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA with full Military Honors.
