R. Kenneth Schell, 69, died at home Tuesday, April 3, 2007 after a brave one-year battle against severe health challenges. Ken was born in McKees Rocks, PA. He came to Florida to attend and graduated from the University of Miami.

Ken retired 14 years ago after 35 years with North American/ Rockwell. He worked on both the Apollo and Shuttle programs at Kennedy Space Center and Downey, CA in the manufactur ing engineering organization.

He was a member of Our Saviours Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Cocoa Beach Elks, the NRA and the Spaceport Gun Club. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Billie Jo (BJ); sons, Scott (Edith) and Christopher; daughter, Lynn Hughes; grand son, Frank Hughes III; and son- in-law, Frank Hughes II.

The Wake Service will be from 6-8 p.m., Monday, April 9th at Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home, US 1, Rockledge; the Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 10th at Our Saviours Catholic Church, 5301 N. Atlantic Avenue, Cocoa Beach, FL 32931. Internment will follow immediately at Florida Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Kens memory to Our Saviours Building Fund mailed to the above address.
