JAMES A. DEVAULT, COCOA

James A. Devault, 65, died of cardiac arrest, on Monday, May 12, 2008, at Cape Canaveral Hospital. Jim was born October 24, 1942 in Milan, TN, son of the late Julian H. and Mary Ruth Devault. He graduated from Tennessee Technological University in 1965 with a BSEE degree.

Jim was employed by the US Air Force in Mobile, AL from 1965 to 1968 and by NASA at Kennedy Space Center from 1968 to 2002, as a Communications Engineer for the Space Program. In 2001, Jim received the "Snoopy" award from Astronaut Jeff Ashby for his exceptional engineering and management of operational communication systems. The pin had flown on a Space Shuttle mission.
