DORIS DOYLE, TITUSVILLE

Doris Eileen (Hooker) Doyle, 65, a Christian, passed on to a better existence on Thursday, September 18, 2008 after a long illness due to complications from cancer. Ms. Doyle was born in Baltimore, MD on May 26, 1943. She moved to Titusville with her family in 1958.

She worked in the aerospace industry at Cape Canaveral and the Kennedy Space Center for 36 years. Doris retired early from United Space Alliance in 2004 due to her health.

She earned a B.S. degree in social sciences from Rollins College in 1980. Ms. Doyle enjoyed travel through the States and Europe. She had many interests including reading, writing, home decorating, and walking through nature.

She was preceded in death by her father, James E. Hooker, II; her mother, Maude A. Hooker; and a brother, James E. Hooker, III. Doris is survived by her sons, Derrick Meier of Ellicott City, Maryland, and Kevin Meier of Titusville, Florida; her brother, Daniel Hooker, and nephew, Shawn Hooker, both of Melbourne. She also leaves behind her stepmother, Elizabeth Hooker, and stepsister, Jean Monnier (Eugene), in Hawaii and her stepsister, Katherine Fisher (Harry) in Boca Raton, Florida; and many other relatives and friends. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, September 26, 2008 at 11 a.m., at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Titusville, Florida.
