ALWIN W. EPPEL, MERRITT ISLAND
Alwin W. Eppel, 74, a retired water and waste water plant operator, died Friday, June 27, 2008 at Cape Canaveral Hospi tal. Alwin was born in Mannheim, Germany and came to Brevard County in 1966 from Germany.

He also worked for Boeing Services, EG&G and SGS.

He was a member of National IAM; he enjoyed bowling with his wife, Trudy, camping, and play ing his accordian. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Trudy Eppel of Merritt Island; two brothers, Harry and Gerhard Waegemann, both of Germany; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ingrid and Jim Johnson of Merritt Island; niece, Michelle Layne of Melbourne, and nephew, Michael Johnson of Kansas.

Memorial services are Saturday, July 5th, 2 p.m. at Florida Memorial Funeral Home. Burial at Florida Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to National Kidney Foundation.
