HENRY HOUCHENS, COCOA

Henry Clay Houchens, 76, of Cocoa, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2008 with his family at his bedside.

Hank moved to Florida for the Apollo program.

He went on to open the Texaco station that he ran for years, and from which so many came to know him. He was a mechanic, commercial fisherman, a contractor, and a true Jack of all trades. Hank served his country in the 1950s in the U.S. Army.

He helped so many in so many ways. His life was a testament of how a good man should live. He will be missed.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Evelyn; son, John (Cindy); daughter, Lori; grand children, Joshua, Matthew, Kayla, and Austin. Calling hours are 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, June 30th at the First Baptist Church of Port St. John. Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 1st at the First Baptist Church of Port St. John.
