BLANCHE JOHANNESSEN, ORLANDO

Blanche Marie Johannessen, age 87, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2008, at her daughters home in Orlando. She was born in Sagel, Idaho on January 9, 1921.

She had been a resident of Eau Gallie since 1953 and went to work with Pan American Support Group at Cape Canaveral, and retired in 1983.

She was active in Meals on Wheels. She was also proud to be an active member in her Pan Am Retirees Club. For many years she loved to entertain at retirement centers with her lovebird Sam and her puppet Bubba. Her church, The Community of Christ, was where she found peace and joy.

She is survived by her children Patrick Richard Penny (Jennifer) and Barbara Lou Recio (Gilbert); grandchildren Robin Recio (Jill), Patrick Recio (Kristin), Matthew Penny and Michael Penny; great-grand- children Trevor Recio, Connor Recio, Tyler Eggers Recio, Beau Eggers Recio, Mindy Recio, Trever Penny, Alyssa Marie Penny, and Morgan Page Penny. She also leaves behind her friend and companion of 21 years Ray Bitting.

A celebration of her life will be held after the close of the 11 a.m., Communion Service Sunday, August 3rd, at the Community of Christ Church, 1901 Emerson Drive SE, Palm Bay, FL.
