ROBERT J. JOHNSON, MELBOURNE

Robert J. Johnson, 87, passed away Sunday October 5, 2008, at William Childs Hospice House in Palm Bay.

He was born in San Francisco, CA and moved to Melbourne, FL in 1957 to work at Kennedy Space Center as a Communications Engineer.

He served eight years active duty in the Army during World War II, Korea, and in the reserves until 1981 when he retired as a Colonel.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lois Johnson; two sons, Michael, and Robert Jr. (Lori) Johnson; son-in-law, Wendell Burke; four grandchil dren, Krista Marquick, Travis Mirra, Aimee and Marshall Johnson; great grandchild, Caleb Johnson; and dear friend, Barbara Vaughn. He was predeceased by two daughters, Georgia Marquick, Teresa Burke and son, David Johnson.

He was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church and will be sadly missed by family and friends. Services will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 2:00 p.m., at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 50 W. Strawbridge Avenue, Melbourne.
