KENNY LIPTAK, COCOA BEACH Kenny Liptak passed away peacefully Friday night, May 16, 2008. He was born June 11, 1955 in Orange, California. Kenny was known for his playful spirit and devotion to his family. His family never had to question his love for them, because he told them every single day. Never was there a phone call that didn't end with "I love you" to his wife and daughters. He loved living on the beach, golf, soft ball, music, spending time with his girls and working with his team to launch rockets. Kenny graduated from West Coast University with a BS in Business Administration. He began his career in California at JC Carter Company and went on to work for Northrop and then McDonnell Douglas, which later became Boeing. He spent most of his career as a business manager at the launch sites at Vandenberg Air Force Base. In 2003, he and his family moved to Florida, where he eventually became the ULA Site Business Manager for the newly formed United Launch Alliance. Kenny was preceded in death by his mother, Gay Liptak on May 1, 2008. His mother brought him into this world, so it is comforting to know that her spirit was with him when he left this world. He is also preceded in death by his step-brother Bruce. Kenny is survived by his wife of 30 years, Teresa; his three daughters Christina, Teresa (Cha), and Kellie; father James Liptak of Anaheim, CA; brother Rick and wife Karen and their two sons Zach and Ryan, of Sacramento, CA; sister Rhonda Grey and children Samantha and Phillip of Sacramento, CA; and step-sister Tanya Liptak of Paulden, Az. Kenny was also very close to his brothers-in-law Bill Hausen of Whittier, CA and Paul Hausen of Chino Hills, CA. A memorial service (Minister Cliff Woodrum) will be held Saturday, May 24, 2008 at 11 a.m., at the beach, south of Cocoa Beach, Florida, across from Patrick AFB on Hwy. A1A, immediately south of the Block house. Kenny was happiest in shorts and a t-shirt on the beach, so comfortable attire is highly recommended. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Holmes Regional Medical Center (Heart Center). The family would especially like to thank the medical and nursing staff at Cape Canaveral Hospital and Holmes Regional Medical Center for their valiant efforts. |
