PAUL WINTON, MERRITT ISLAND Paul Leroy Winton, 67, of Merritt Island, passed away Monday, May 12, 2008, in his home surrounded by his family and friends. Born in Coweta, Oklahoma in March 1941, he moved to the Space Coast in 1966. Paul (aka, "Kissy-Poo"), dedicated 37 years to Kennedy Space Center; the Apollo Program through the Shuttle; retiring in March 2000. His contributions to the space program and the people he touched are unsurpassed. He was preceded in death by his parents, marvin and Ruby Winton. Paul is survived by his wife, Gloria Winton of Merritt Island, FL who he married in 1984; brothers, Gary and Dennis Winton of Collinsville, OK; sister Ann Owens of Vera, OK; daughter Andrea Winton of Collins ville, OK; son, Tracy Winton of Satellite Beach; daughter, Tammy Lima of Orlando; and granddaughters, Nelisa and Brittany Lima and Courtney Winton. A memorial service will be held at Wylie Baxley Funeral Home, 1360 N. Courtenay Park way, Merritt Island on Friday, May 16th, at 11 a.m., and a Cel ebration of Life ceremony at the Eagles-Shore Lanes on Merritt Island, will follow.
