Herman Bushek - Cocoa Beach

Herman A. Bushek 81, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2009, after a brief illness. He was born in Salem, Massachusetts to Herman and Gladys (Calder) Bushek. He attended Salem High School and then went on to graduate from the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, NY. Upon graduation he served in the Merchant Marines and later was an officer in the United States Navy.

Herman loved Cocoa Beach and his daily bike rides around town. He thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful surroundings that landed him on the Space Coast in the early 50's. His electrical engineering skills took him to work in the "Panama Canal Zone", (the old blue)"PAN AM" building in Cocoa Beach and later on to Patrick Air Force Base, until his retirement.

Herman is survived by his loving brother, Paul D. Bushek and his wife Erma of Cape Canaveral. He will also be sadly missed by nieces, Lee Bushek, Beverly Rivera and Heidi Johnson (Hallet) all of Cocoa Beach, Jewel Barnett, Gay Dougherty (John), and Dina Melanson all of Danvers MA.

He also leaves behind nephews, Jeffery Bushek (Pamela) of Coral Springs, FL, David Bushek (Charlene) of New Hampshire, and Neal and Glenn Melanson (Joanne) also of Danvers MA. He was predeceased by his brother, John and sister, Mary "Sis" Melanson.

At Herman's request, there will be no services.

The family will gather for a "Celebration of Life" at a later date. You may send condolences to Herman's online guestbook at: www.beckman-williamson.com.
