William W. Greene, Rockledge

William W. (Bill) Greene, age 87, of 1025 Rockledge Drive (Indian River Club Condominiums) passed away on 5/27/09. Bill was born on December 28, 1921 in Browns Summit, North Carolina.

Bill had been a resident of Brevard County since 1957 when he and his family moved to Cocoa from North Carolina. Bill was on the leading edge of migration to the Space Coast area in support of the infant missile industry at the Space Center. He was employed for 35 years at RCA and its subsidiary, AUTEC. Bill was a Marine veteran of WW II. As a member of the First Marine Aircraft Wing, he saw action in a number of the Pacific island campaigns of the war including Iwo Jima.

Bill was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church of Cocoa. He was also a charter member of the Rockledge United Methodist Church.

Bill is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mozelle; son Dale; daughter Cheri; as well as four grandchildren - Jason, Ryan, Andrew and Danny.

Service will be held at 12pm Monday, June 1, 2009, at National Cremation and Burial Society (formerly Wylie -Baxley in Rockledge). Burial will be immediately following at Florida Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contribu tions may be made to Wuestoff Brevard Hospice and Pallative Care.
