![]() Reed Hunt - Mims Reed ONeal Hunt, 84, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 11, 2009. Reed was born on December 7, 1924 in Branford, Florida. Reed served in World War II and the Korean War in the U.S. Army. He moved to North Brevard in 1956 to work at the space center. Reed enjoyed a long career as a welder/pipefitter through the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, Local 295, Daytona Beach. His trade provided him the opportunity to work around the country. Shortly after moving to Brevard he became involved in the citrus industry, and had a passion for gardening. Reed was an active member of Temple Baptist Church. He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Iona and two children, Michael of Homestead and Lynne of Atlanta. He was also proud Papa to grandchildren, Hope, Kerri, Russell and Alex and great grandchildren, Ben and Faithe. A visitation will be held tonight from 6 to 8 p.m., at North Brevard Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at Temple Baptist Church Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at 11a.m. Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 14, 2009 at Pisgah Cemetery in Suwannee County. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of St. Francis, 1250-B Grumman Place, Titusville, FL 32780 or the Temple Baptist Church Building Fund.
