![]() Roch C. Moise, Titusville Roch C. Moise, 84, passed away Friday, June 19, 2009 at home. He was born in Covington, LA on March 13, 1925 to Alice Mouton-Moise and Roch Compton Moise, Sr. After graduating from St. Pauls Christian Brothers School in 1943 Roch joined the Navy and was stationed in the South Pacific. After the war he joined the Army Air Corps, which later became the U.S. Air Force, where he served as a Flight Engineer in MATS. In 1962 he was afforded the opportunity to be a member of a crew that took John Glenns capsule, Friend ship 7, on an around the world exhibition tour ending in Seattle, WA at the Worlds Fair. During this tour he made contacts that later lead to his job as a NASA Quality Control Inspector. He retired from the Air Force in 1963 after reaching the rank of MSgt and later retired from NASA in 1982. Roch then worked for Rockwell International and Lockheed Corp. as a Quality Control Inspector with the Space Shuttle program before retiring in 1989. He has spent the last 20 years traveling the world, playing golf and enjoying his homes in Florida and North Carolina. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Shirley; daughters, Paula (Chris) OBrien of Inver Grove Hts., MN and Claudia (Chris) OLeary of Weedville, PA; sons, Chris (Lisa) Perdue of Port St. John, and Gary (Karlene) Perdue of Mims; brothers, Gerald Moise and James Moise; and sister, Roseann Bivens, all of Covington, LA; plus 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 2399 Holder Road, Mims, FL on Wednesday, June 24th at 10:00 a.m. A reception will follow in Emmaus Hall.
