![]() Glenn Norvell Green Mountain, NC Glenn Carnell Norvell, 84, passed away in Oviedo, Florida on Friday, March 6, 2009. He was born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, January 28, 1925. He was the only child of Glenn Norvell and Freddie Nance. Upon co pleting high school, he served the US Army in World War II, in France. He married Ruth Buzza in 1948. He was an accomplished violinist and pianist. He received a Masters degree from Oklahoma A&M, Stillwater, in Mathematics and Physics. Glenn was employed by Amarada Petroleum after graduation. In 1952, he worked for Douglas Aircraft in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In 1960 he was transferred to Charlotte, North Carolina and in 1965 to Kennedy Space Center in Florida. In 1976 he retired, giving him more time to enjoy his hobby of growing orchids while raising his grandson Robert. Glenn and Ruth moved to Micaville, North Carolina in 1991 to enjoy the rural Appalachian mountain life. Glenn and Ruth had three sons. The oldest son, Alan Dale and his wife, Sally, were killed in an airplane accident in 1978. Glenn is survived by his wife, Ruth; sons, Glenn and David; grandchildren, Robert, Sara, Torin, David Jr., and Gareth; and a great grandson, Aidan. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, March 9th, at North Brevard Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. He will be buried in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Titusville, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Hospice of the Comforter, 80 W.
