James A. Parks, Jr. - Merritt Island

James Parks, Jr., 81, a retired electrical engineer, passed away Friday, February 13, 2009 at Wuesthoff Medical Center. He was born in Birmingham, AL and came to Brevard County in 1959 from Atlanta, GA.

He worked for the U.S. Space Program as an electrical engineer. He was an Air Force veteran and served in the Korean War. Mr Parks worked for the U.S. Space Program from its early days in 1959 until his retirement from Lockheed Martin and Space Shuttle Program in 1992.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, February 18, 2009 from 12 pm to 1 pm, followed by services at 2 pm at Brevard Memorial Funeral Home.
