Joseph Prusas, Jr. Cocoa

Devoted husband and father, Joseph Prusas, Jr., died peacefully on the 8th day of March, 2009. Joey was born on October 30, 1945, in Salem, New Jersey. He moved to Cocoa in 1959. At a young age he was baptized as one of Jehovahs Witnesses and in 1970 he married Barbara beginning 38 years of life together.

Joe was employed at Kennedy Space Center for 30 years working on the Space Shuttle program. He was well liked by his co-workers, known for his quick wit and sense of humor and was a mentor who gave advice, not only about work related issues but also about moral values and family life. Joey will be remembered for the zeal he showed in the ministry, receiving great joy from sharing his faith with others. Down to the end his hope was bright, his faith strong, and his conviction unwavering.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter, Jennifer; son and daugh ter-in-law, Joseph "Jay" and Jessica; father and stepmother, Joseph, Sr. and Mary; mother, Claire; sister and brother-in-law, Debra and Louis Cancro; and many other family members, along with hundreds of friends.

Memorial services will be held Saturday March 14, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses, 1325 Huntington Lane, Rockledge, FL. The family has asked that those who wish may send donations for pancreatic cancer research to Pancreatic Action Net work, 2141 Rosecrans Ave., Suite 7000, El Segundo, CA 90245.
