Fred Santomassino - Satellite Beach

Fred A. Santomassino passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at 6:05 p.m., in Satellite Beach. He was born in Greenwich Village, New York City, March 28, 1921, and married to Ruth Santomassino for 67 years.

Fred and Ruth moved to Patrick Air Force Base in 1958. He served in the Army Air Force from 1939 until his retirement from the Air Force as a Master Sergeant in 1959. He was a photographer on Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo space programs. His photography has been exhibited at King Center and other local juried art shows and has appeared in National Geographic and other publications.

He was predeceased by his mother, father and two brothers. Fred is survived by his wife, Ruth; daughters, Kathy and Jo Ann; son, Fred; grandchildren, Ellen, Amy, Tyler, Michael and Peter; and great-grandchildren, Jake, Charlie, Sam, and Tommy.
