James R. Bauer, Titusville
James R. Bauer went to be with his Lord on Monday, August 25, 2009, at home, under Hospice of St. Francis Care for the last several months. He was born in Missoula, Montana on February 24, 1939, the son of Margaret and Sebastian Bauer (deceased) and was the youngest of 14 children, all deceased but one brother, Harry Bauer of Missoula, Montana. Jim grew up in Missoula, Montana, where he met his wife, Sally (Hangas) and they began their 50-year life together in 1959.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1957-59. He attended the University of Montana where he graduated in 1967. His career as a computer engineer began with RCA, who he worked for in Thule, Greenland. He continued working in the aerospace industry with the Boeing Company in Kent, Washington; Lockheed California Co. in Burbank, Ca, and Lockheed and USA at the Kennedy Space Center until his retirement in 1998.
He was an avid sports enthusiast most of his life and spend the greater share of his time on Central Florida area golf courses. He was a life-time member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. Jim loved life, was a devoted husband and fa ther, and a strong, gentle man who remained a friend to everyone he met. Jim is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sally, a daughter, Lynne Bauer, and a son, Scott Bauer. A celebration of Jims life will be conducted at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3671 Hopkins Ave., Titusville, Fl. at 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 2, 2009. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Trinity Lutheran Church or Hospice of St. Francis.
