Sgt. Maj. William Ronald Black Aiken, SC

Sgt. Maj. Black, 77, of Aiken, SC, beloved husband of Thelma Ruth Black, died suddenly on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at home.

Sgt. Maj. Black served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars, receiving the Purple Heart, as well as other medals and commendations. After military retirement he worked for Lockheed- Martin, at Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral, FL for 15 years, receiving many commendations for his contributions to the shuttle program.

He lived in Cocoa, FL during this time.
