Vincent J. Comella, Rockledge

Vincent J. Comella, 92, of Rockledge, FL, a retired logistics manager, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2009 at Rockledge Health and Rehab.

Born in Troy, NY, he came to Brevard County in 1964 from Madison, WI. He worked for Bendix Field Engineering/ Honeywell at Cape Canaveral, KSC. A retired veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he served with the U.S. Army in World War II in European Theatre, where he was among the first wave on Omaha Beach on D-Day.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Ruth Comella, Rockledge, FL; son, Vincent A. Comella (Malene), Santa Cruz, CA; daughter, Carol R. Anderson (Andrew), Melbourne, FL and granddaughter, Laura Babiarz, Melbourne.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 18th at 1 p.m. at Florida Memorial Funeral Home. Interment at Florida Memorial Gardens. Donations to the American Cancer Society are appreciated.
