![]() DEHOOG, WILLIAM, 79 , of Mount Dora, FL passed away on Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009. William was born on July 26, 1930 in Grand Rapids, MI to the late William DeHoog, Sr. and Della Roelofs DeHoog. He moved to Mount Dora from Orlando, FL in 1968. William proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. He was a retired Electrical Engineer from Martin Marietta of Orlando, FL. William also worked at NASA on the design of the communication system for the Space Shuttle. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mount Dora. William is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Jean DeHoog of Mount Dora, FL; sons, William M. DeHoog of NC, Ronald J. DeHoog of CA, David L. DeHoog of Mount Dora, FL, and Michael J. DeHoog of FL; daughter, Jeri-Lynne Bouterse of PA; sister, Delia Church of MI; and seven grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 7, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church of Mount Dora. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in William's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, Central and North Florida Chapter, 378 Center Pointe Circle, Suite 1280, Altamonte Springs, FL 32701.
