![]() Charles E. Fay, Sr., Melbourne Longtime Melbourne resi dent Charles Edward Fay Sr. passed away peacefully on Friday, August 28, 2009 in Leesburg at the age of 86. Charles was raised in New York City during the Great Depression, served in the U.S. Army during World War II and moved to Florida in 1946. He married Elizabeth Ann Chisholm in 1948 and nine years later they settled in Melbourne, where they raised nine children. Charlie worked at the Kennedy Space Center for 36 years and was part of the Apollo program that put a man on the moon. He retired in 1992 and moved to Leesburg with his wife Betty. He died on their 61st anniversary. He is survived by all nine children, 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchil dren. He lived a longer, more successful life than he ever imagined and his family is thankful that God has him now. Funeral services will be Friday, September 4th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Pauls Catholic Church, Leesburg. |
