Ralph Fildes, Merritt Island

Ralph Fildes, 75, died Sunday, December 27, 2009 at Cape Canaveral Hospital.

He retired in 1993 from Kennedy Space Center.

Mr. Fildes is survived by his wife, Novel P. Fildes; daughter, Karen Chappell; son, Michael Fildes; step-daughters, Deborah Wernau-Smith (Ronald) and Gail Susan Wernau; sister, Elvie Swinson; grandsons, Ben Chappell and Daniel Chappell; granddaughter, Tiffany Fildes; step-grandchildren, Richard Boogaerts, William Boogaerts (Heather), Shannon Boogaerts, Adam Smith, Justin Smith and Patrice Smith; great granddaughter, Jory Chappell and step great-grandchildren, William and Sarah Boogaerts.

A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday January 2, 2010 at Wylie- Baxley Merritt Island Funer al Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the National Kidney Foundation, 1-800-927-9659.
