Fred W. Griffis, Titusville

Fred William "Billy" Griffis, 80, died Monday, July 20, 2009 at Royal Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation. Billy was born in Waycross, Georgia and came to Brevard County from Lake City, SC in 1958.

He was a Missile Test Analyst for RCA at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, graduated from Rollins College, and was a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church.

Billy is survived by his wife of 55 years, Phontella "Bink" Griffis; sons, John S. Griffis of Fort Myers and William "Brad" Griffis (Sharon) of Titusville; his daughter, Cindy Griffis Dukat (Dean) of Orlando, and his grandchildren, Robyn, Steve, Jonathan, Kaitlyn and Matthew Griffis, and Brandon Dukat.

A memorial service will be held at 11a.m., Friday, July 24th at Park Avenue Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior. Donations may be made to Park Avenue Baptist Church. Online condolences may be expressed at north-brevardfuneralhome.com.
