Thomas M. Rhine, Satellite Beach

Thomas M. Rhine, age 74, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2009 at Indian River Center in Melbourne, FL. He was born on June 25, 1935 in Willard, Ohio.

Tom and his family came to Brevard County in 1965 so that he could be a part of the space program. He worked as an aerospace engineer for his entire career until his retirement from Computer Sciences Raytheon. He was a true pioneer of the space industry, and was the recipient of one of the first Silver Snoopy Awards, presented to him by NASA. This prestigious award recognized Tom for outstanding achievement related to manned flight mission success.

Tom had a passion for his work and for his family. He was a devoted father and grandfather. Tom is survived by his daughter, Kelly Breedlove of Cape Canaveral; sons, Thomas Rhine, Jr. (Nancy) of Denver, and Gary Rhine of Orlando. He has three precious granddaughters, Hannah and Abby Breed love and Casey Rhine.

A special thanks to all of the staff at Indian River Center in both the Caring Way and Key West units. We are forever grateful for the loving care provided to our father.
