NUNES SATELLITE BEACH Ben Hill Nunes, 89, CWO-4 USAF, retired, died Thursday, March 25, 2004.
Born in Atlan ta, Ga., he was a Meteorologist for 28 years in the USAF. He had several tours overseas, including Guadal Canal in the South Pacific Islands, Germany twice, Korea, and France. He also played an important role in establishing the weather sta tions around the world for the Apollo Program for NASA. He was the father of three sons, Joseph Leon, Frank Edwin and Mark. Ben is survived by his wife, Susanne; his son, Mark; grandson, Scott Nunes, M.D., his wife, Jenette Lopez, M.D., and their son, Joshua; grand daughter, Kimberly Nunes Bufford; and grandson-in-law, Westley Bufford. There will be an informal open house Celebration of Life at the family residence on Saturday, March 27, 2004, at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Salvation Army or to the charity of your choice.
