BARGER MELBOURNE Beverly J. Barger, 65, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2004. Ms. Barger was born in St. Louis, Mo. In 1963 she started her career with PanAm and is now employed by SGS at Cape Canaveral AFS/Kennedy Space Center. She was a member of Self Help for Hard of Hearing - Brevard, and a member of Rose Hill Chapter #120 of Order of the Eastern Star in St. Louis. Her hearing guide dog, Sonar, was the first guide dog on the East Coast with Florida Dog Guides for the Deaf and the first guide dog badged for Cape Canaveral AFS, thus opening the way for others with disabilities. Ms. Barger is survived by her sister, E. Lee Reis-El Bara; nieces, Kimberlee Ann Gilbert and Nancy Catherine Burdette; and a grandnephew Matthew Trevor Gilbert. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 1st, in the chapel of Brownlie- Maxwell.
