HUGHES MELBOURNE -- Winford D. ''Buster'' Hughes, 77, died Wednesday, October 11, 2000. Mr. Hughes was born on July 29, 1923 in St. Charles, Va. He moved to Brevard County in 1961 from Noblesville, Ind. He was a retired maintenance mechanic at Kennedy Space Center and had worked on the Apollo program.
Mr. Hughes was an Army veteran of World War II and had served in Europe.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Melbourne. He is survived by
his wife of 55 years, Roxie; sons, Donnie of Melbourne, Ron of Palm Bay,
Ken of Rockledge and Rick of York, Pa.; daughter, Kim of Melbourne;
sisters, Helen Hughes, EuniceHaynes, Wilma Carlile, Kathleen Hilton, and
Imogene Garrett; brother, James Hughes; 14 grandchildren; and six
great-grandchildren. Calling hours were held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, at
Davis Funeral Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, at Rockledge
Baptist Church. Graveside services and interment will be at 12:30
p.m.Friday, at Florida Memorial Gardens.
