KROUPA SUN CITY CENTER Charles E. Kroupa, 82, of Sun City Center, Fla., died Sunday, June 6, 2004. Charles served in the United States Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1946 as a First Lieuten ant in the 4020 AAF Base Unit earning distinguished service decorations, the World War II Victory Medal, American Theater Ribbon and the European Theater of Operations Ribbon. Charles retired after 40 years of service Grumman Aerospace Corporation dedicated to the Apollo Space Program from Assistant Base Manager to Director of Lunar Module Oper ations at Kennedy Space Cen ter. He earned a Bachelor and Masters degree in Aeronautical Engineering from New York Uni versity. In addition, he was an Honorary graduate of the Naval Test Pilot School at the United States Naval Air Test Center in Patuxent River, Md., where dur ing his tenure as an Academic Instructor for Stability and Control, he authored a textbook for the school. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Audrey Atwood. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Eileen W. Kroupa; four daughters, Janet (Dennis) Crisfield, Ruth Lyman, Diane (John) Hardos and Lois Kroupa; a son-in-law, Bill Atwood; ten grandchildren; and one great- granddaughter. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, June 11, 2004 at St. John the Divine Episcopal Church, 705 9th Street SE, Ruskin, Florida with the Reverend Tracy H. Wilder, III officiating. Interment will be at Monticello Gardens, in Char lottesville, Va. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Kates Club, P.O.
