BARTOSEK ROCKLEDGE -- Longtime Rockledge resident Elmer R. ''Bart'' Bartosek, 77, died Thursday, December 14, 2000, of complications from Alzheimer's disease. Mr. Bartosek, retired in 1989 after 25 years as a project engineer for Aerospace Corporation at Kennedy Space Center. He previously worked for Space Technologies Laboratories here and at Chance Vought Aircraft Corporation in Fort Worth, Texas.
He served with the U. S. Navy in the Pacific during World War II. A
Chicago native, he graduated in mechanical engineering from Illinois
Institute of Technology in 1949. He moved to Cocoa in 1959, and to
Rockledge in 1963. Mr. Bartosek was active at St. Mary's Catholic
Church,including serving as president of the Home and SchoolAssociation. He
was involved for many years with Toastmasters International and was
avolunteer leader with local4-H Clubs. He also servedon the Rockledge
Board ofAdjustment. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Mary C.
Bartosek; daughters, Margaret Bartosek Krochta of Davis, Calif., Mary Dail
of Vancouver, Wash., Martha Flynn of Merritt Island, and Marie Doyle of
Kissimmee; sons, John of West Palm Beach, Lawrence of El Paso, Texas and
Joseph and Thomas, both of Rockledge; a brother, George Bartusek of
Naperville, Ill.; and 15 grandchildren. Calling hours will be from 5 to 8
p.m. Tuesday, December 19, at Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home, 1200 South U.S.
1, Rockledge, with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m.
Wednesday, December 20, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rockledge. Burial
will follow at Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge. In lieu of flowers,
donations may be made to St. Mary's Catholic School in Rockledge.
