Ford V. Mattice, 83, passed away Wednes day, March 17, 2004, at Holmes Region al Medical Center in Mel bourne, Fla. Mr. Mattice was born in Gilboa, N.Y. He came to Brevard County in 1957 from Middleburgh, N.Y. He was a USAF veteran of World War II. He worked for GE at the Cape and then for the National Parks Service. Mr. Mattice was a member of the Tabernacle Church of Mel bourne, and the National Park Conservation Association. He enjoyed working outside, loved the mountains and beaches and spending time with his family. He will be remembered most for his deep love for his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Jean Mattice; daughter, Carol Elting; son, Ford L. Mattice; grandson, Ford Michael Mattice; granddaughters, Patrice Mattice, Dana Elting and January Dowling; and a brother, Jay R. Mattice. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 21st, at the Tabernacle Church of Melbourne.
