DONTONVILLE MELBOURNE Frank C. Dontonville, a beloved husband, father, and soldier, passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2004, at age 72 in his Melbourne home. Frank was born August 25, 1931 in Philadelphia Pa. He was a graduate of Germantown High School, and enlisted in the Army in January of 1951. He served as paratrooper in tours of duty in Korea. Frank graduated from the first Satellite Com munications class of the military, and went on to serve tours of duty in Vietnam. Frank retired from the Army in 1971 at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. In 1977, Frank and his family moved to Florida. Because of his dedication in Satellite Communications, Frank progressed to Electrical Engineer, and worked contracts for companies such as Harris Corporation, G.E., C.S.R., and Lockheed- Martin, installing satellite communication systems, one of which was responsible for broadcast of the Lunar Landing for Alaska in 1969. Frank is survived by his wife, Velma; children, Pamela Hartery, Connie Soden, Beverly Roonan, Melinda Wallauer, Candy Femano and Michael Dontonville; sixteen grandchil dren; and one great-grandson. Frank was an avid sports fan, and supported his hometown Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. He was a devoted family man, and he will be deeply missed. A memorial service will be held at the South Brevard Funeral Home, 1001 S. Hickory Street, Melbourne, on Saturday, August 14, 2004, at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
