JR. TITUSVILLE -- Harold C. Schaible Jr., 74, a former airline
mechanic, died Tuesday, May 23, at home.
Mr. Schaible came to Brevard County 19 years ago from Kansas City, Kan., where he was born. He was a mechanic for TWA in Kansas City for 32 years before his retirement in 1988. During his employment with TWA, he worked at Kennedy Space Center in 1964, returning to Kansas City in 1971. Mr. Schaible was a volunteer historian/tour guide for the Valiant Air Museum in Titusville. Mr. Schaible also was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Mr. Schaible was a member of American Legion Post 1 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4228, both in Titusville. He was a member of Scottish Rite of Free Masonry in Kansas City, Wyandotte Masonic Lodge 3, Ararat Shrine Temple and Scooter Corp. drill team, all in Kansas City. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Vivian Schaible of Titusville; sons, Jerry Schaible of Edgewater and Larry Schaible of Tillamook, Ore.; daughters, Linda Schaible of Delray Beach, Kathy Ford of Ormond Beach, Cyndi Starke of Blue Springs, Mo., and Tami Kettlewell of Independence, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at North Brevard Funeral Home in Titusville. Services will be at 1 p.m Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
