HENRY DUBOCQ
INDIAN HARBOUR BEACH
Henry L. Dubocq, whose aviation career spanned World War II to Desert Storm, died Tuesday, September 14, 2004, after a lengthy illness. He was 78. Formerly of Northport, N.Y., he had retired to Indian Harbour Beach with his wife, Elaine. They were married 55 years and raised four sons. Dubocq joined Grumman Aircraft as a teen, assembling Navy Hellcat fighter planes during World War II. He later transferred to the engineering department, where he worked on NASAs Lunar Excursion Module. At night, he attended classes at Hofstra University, obtaining a degree in 1964. Though he retired in the late 1980s, he continued with Northrop Grumman as a consultant. His projects included the J-STARS radar reconnaissance aircraft that were instrumental during 1991s Desert Storm. He and his wife traveled extensively in an RV he hand- built with the skills learned on Grummans assembly line. He also enjoyed camping with his family, and delighted in helping his sons with home improve ment projects. He is survived by his wife and four sons, Tom of Wellington, Fla., Richard of Watertown, Maine, David of Lexington, Ky., and John of Hollywood, Fla.; as well as 10 grandchildren. Arrangements by Davis- Seawinds Funeral Home in Melbourne, 254-1532.
