GRIER COCOA BEACH -- Jeanette Mewborn Grier, 91, a retired Air Force
civilian personnel specialist, died Sunday, March 19, at home.
Mrs. Grier was born in Bowman, Ga. She came to Brevard County 48 years ago. She assisted in recruiting and placing many of the civilian missile pioneers with the Apollo and Gemini programs in the early 1950s for assignment to Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. She was the recipient of a defense department commendation for distinguished service after serving a volunteer tour of duty in Denang, South Vietnam during the war. Survivors include her son, Aubrey Grier of Cape Canaveral; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. No calling hours or services are scheduled. Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home in Cocoa Beach is in charge of arrangements. The family requests no flowers. Donations may be made to Wuesthoff Brevard Hospice, P.O.
