LURIE COCOA Dr. John Miles Lurie, M.D., Cocoa, Fla., beloved husband, father, doctor and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday September 27, 2004. He was 58 years old. Dr. Lurie was born in Paducah, Ky. He was raised and grew up in Metropolis, Illinois. He moved to Florida in 1981. He had traveled to many places including most to the United States, Mexico and Europe. Dr. Lurie had also had numerous jobs in his lifetime from beekeeper (his favorite hobby) to T.V. reporter/ anchorman, Rock and Roll dee jay, bricklayer, tarot card reader and Mickey Mouses doctor at Walt Disney World. Professionally he had done many residen cies and had worked as an urgent care doctor, cruise ship doctor, Orlando Public Health Departments S.T.D. Specialist and E.R. Physician for the U.S. Space Exploration program at Patrick Air Force Base. Dr. Lurie was presently in charge of Rockledges Urgent Care Center, Inc., in Rockledge, Fla. He wishes to be remembered by his friends, family and patients for his sense of humor, laughter, dedication and joy for life and living things. He is survived by his wife, one son and relatives. His remains will be cremated and there will be a small private remembrance service at his home in Cocoa Fla., in October of 2004. |
