VIGLIONE MERRITT ISLAND -- Joseph Viglione, 64, a retired aerospace
director, died Friday, July 7, at Cape Canaveral Hospital in Cocoa Beach.
Mr. Viglione was born in Patterson, N.J. He came to Brevard County in 1984 from Poulsbo, Wash. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Viglione worked for Lockheed Aerospace Corp. in California, Washington and Kennedy Space Center for 40 years before retiring in 1998. He was Catholic. Mr. Viglione was a member of the Merritt Island Moose Lodge and the Elks Lodge No. 2650 on Merritt Island. He enjoyed fishing. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Viglione of Merritt Island; sons, Eddie Viglione of San Jose, Calif. and Richard Smalley of Poulsbo; daughters, Carolyn Waller of San Jose, Robin Underwood of Poulsbo and Rachel Mercer of Silverdale, Wash.; brother, Anthony Viglione of San Jose; sister, Margaret Viglione of Minnesota; and 13 grandchildren. Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wylie-Baxley Merritt Island Funeral home. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Brevard Memorial Park in Frontenac.
