TITUSVILLE - Layton T. Corbin, 76, a retired maintenance worker, died
Monday, Aug. 28, at Parrish Medical Center.
Mr. Corbin came to Brevard County in 1927 from Sanford, Va., where he was born. He was a Navy veteran of World War II who served in the South Pacific. Mr. Corbin was a Titusville High School graduate. He worked for Titusville as a maintenance supervisor before his retirement. Mr. Corbin was also employed by Pan American at Cape Canaveral from 1956 until 1971. He was a member of Indian River Lodge 90 F&AM in Titusville for more than 40 years, a member of Orlando Scottish Rite and Azan Shrine Temple in Melbourne. Survivors include his wife, Joye Corbin of Titusville; sons, Thomas Corbin and Terry Corbin, both of Titusville; daughters, Karen Rowell of Mims and Susan Corbin of Titusville; stepsons, Scott Monroe of Port St. Lucie and Steve Monroe of St. Louis; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Calling hours are from 6 to 8 tonight at North Brevard Funeral Home in Titusville. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Titusville.
