LESLIE LIVELY Jr. WEST MELBOURNE - Leslie L. Lively Jr., 78, a retired Air Force major, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, at home.

Mr. Lively was born in Birmingham, Ala. He came to Brevard County in 1967 from Mountain Home, Idaho.

He was an Air Force veteran of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.

Mr. Lively enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1941 as an aircraft mechanic. He was commissioned in June 1945 and left the service in October 1945. He remained in the Air Force reserves and was later called to active duty.

He served as an aircraft maintenance officer and missile combat crew commander in the Atlas-E program.

Mr. Lively retired in 1967 from Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho and came to work as a technical writer and planner for Bendix Corp. at Kennedy Space Center.

He is survived by his son, Leslie L. Lively III of West Melbourne.

No calling hours or services are scheduled. Davis Funeral Home in Melbourne is in charge of arrangements.
