Ret. Col. Louis F. Daboll died Thursday, June 3, 2004. A beloved husband, father and brother will be missed. His honesty, integrity, sense of pride, and love of life and country will be forever remembered. Col. Daboll was a 30 year United States Air Force Veteran who was proud to serve as the Commander of the 2179th Comm Group at Patrick Air Force Base before his retirement in 1991. His military career included many awards and decorations. He graduated with honors from the last class of Officer Candidate School in 1963. After his retirement, Col. Daboll worked as a manager in the engineering department of Computer Sciences Raytheon. He was raised in Florida and met his wife of 41 years, Elizabeth (Betsy) while stationed at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa. He attended Eau Gallie First Baptist Church. He was an avid golfer and played softball on many teams in the area. He encouraged learning and education and held two Masters Degrees. Col. Daboll was a past President of the Patrick Chapter of AFCEA and belonged to MENSA, the Air Force Association, and was a Mason. He leaves behind a loving family which includes his wife, Betsy of Melbourne; son, Mark Daboll and wife, Jennifer of Tampa; daughters, Lynne Benck and husband, Bill of Gainesville and Bonnie Daboll of Pensacola; and sister, Barbara Stenner of Geneva. He also had three adoring grand children, Katie and Emily Daboll and Matthew Benck, and nephews, Jeff Devlin and Randy Sheppard. Calling hours are Monday, June 7, 2004 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Florida Memorial Funeral Home. Services are Tuesday, June 8, 2004 at 11 a.m., also at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at Florida Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made to the building fund of Eau Gallie First Baptist Church. Florida Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
