Mr. Schroeder was born in Springfield, Mass. He came to Brevard County in 1967.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Mr. Schroeder retired from government work in 1967 after 20 years of service. He then worked for Boeing at Kennedy Space Center as a teacher for 10 years. He also taught at Florida Institute of Technology.

He enjoyed sports car racing and photography.

Mr. Schroeder was a docent at the Brevard Art and Science Museum in Melbourne.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Patricia Schroeder of Melbourne, and daughter, Christine Mumford of Colorado Springs, Colo.
