MARGARET MacBRIDECOCOA Margaret Eleanor MacBride, age 81, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 21, 2004, at Courtenay Springs Village Nursing Home in Merritt Island, Florida. Born October 2, 1922 in Summitt County in Kenmore, Ohio and raised in Wooster, she was the daughter of Merle and Helen Straus Cadmus; sister to Dawn and Art Agnes, Ruth and John Luke, Helen and Al Jeffries, Wilma and Vernie Conn. She was previously deceased by a brother, Charles Cadmus and many nieces and nephews, all of Wooster. Margaret is also survived by her three children, son, James and wife, Jackie of Vista, Calif., son, Gerald MacBride and daughter, Jill MacBride and grandson, Chad Hufham, who reside in Cocoa, Fla. Margaret graduated from Wooster High School, loved country music and playing her guitar. She married Robert MacBride in California and had three children - living in New Jersey, they divorced in the late 50s, she then came to Brevard County in 1958 with her three children to Melbourne Beach Trailer Village and began her career with the United States Air Force at Patrick Air Force Base, Fla., in 1960 under the command of Lt. Col. Eugene Trunzo in Aircraft Operations and long time friend Ellen Brinkeotter. Margaret also spent two years in the Mid 70s at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio near her family in Wooster, Ohio. Her last years of service with the Air Force were at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station during the launch and loss of the Challenger. She retired on April 3, 1987. Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, October 2nd, at Florida Memorial Funeral Home in Rockledge. |
